Beach Hut Bottle

This bottle started out life as a Jamison whisky bottle:

I filled the bottle with white sea glass, added jute and burlap for decoration, then tied driftwood, broken sea shells along with a small sea glass heart to the front.

I added copper wire, as it complimented the green bottle beautifully, to the top and bottom of the bottle.  This bottle reminds me of a beach hut.

Beachcomber green

Hi today I have another altered bottle to show you:

I rescued this beautiful bottle from the recycle bin at work and set about altering it.
I filled it with green, white & aqua sea glass I collected from my local beach.

After winding string around the bottle I tied driftwood and broken shells, which have been edged with guilding wax, along with sea glass I have drilled and beautiful shell beads, then finished off with green wire and a small vile filled with tiny sea glass.

Drifted sea horse

Drifted sea horse stands 8ins tall and is filled with beautiful aqua sea glass collected from the Moray Firth coastline.

I love the shapes of these small pieces of driftwood, I used guilding wax on the central piece.  The tag is hand made from linen.

Thanks for looking.

Sea glass lighthouse

This bottle was a perfect shape for the light house.  I love the contrast of the red & white.

I made the little boat by wire wrapping sea glass and driftwood and edged with guilding wax.  The bottle is filled with white sea glass, embellished with charms, crabs claw and twisted rope.

Beachcombers delight

This is one of my favourite altered bottles, it started out as a Singleton whisky bottle and turned into a beachcombers delight.

I love the colour of this bottle, the materials used were collected from the beaches along the Moray Firth as shown on the map. I used guilding wax on the slate and shell. The bottle is filled with white sea glass and accessorised with driftwood and sea glass.

Shenwellcrafts is soon to be displaying beautiful works of art that are created from treasures rescued from the coastline along the Moray Firth. From Cullen to Lossimouth we search for sea glass, driftwood, shells and more, spending many happy hours turning them into works of art for others to treasure.
